Soccer’s Dave Lombardo
gets triple nod

omen’s soccer coach dave
Lombardo was selected
2007 Virginia Coach of
the Year in voting conducted among
members of the Virginia sports information
directors association. Lombardo
led JMU to a 17-5-1 record
and an at-large berth in the nCaa
Tournament, where the dukes
advanced to the second round. The
17 wins were a school record and the
most among division i teams in Virginia
in 2007. Lombardo, who has
won Coach of the Year honors three
times, also guided the dukes to a
school-record 15 regular-season wins
and a record 12 home wins, despite
losing the first-string goalkeeper in
the second game of the season and
the second-string goalkeeper in the
first week of october. M

to eight NCAA tournament appearances.

honors five
Standouts named to All-
America and all-region teams
soccer Buzz, a Web site that posts
weekly national and regional soccer
polls, named five JMU women’s soccer
players to all-america or all-region postseason
teams.
Forward Cate Tisinger was named to the
Freshman all-america third team, and she
and midfielder Teresa Rynier were selected
to the Freshman all-Mid-atlantic Region
Team. Tisinger led the dukes in points (28)
and was second in goals (9) and assists (10) in
2007. Rynier led JMU in assists with 11 and
ranked third on the team in points with 19.
senior forward annie Lowry, redshirt
sophomore defender Caitlin Walko and
junior midfielder Kimmy germain earned
all-Mid-atlantic Region honors. Lowry was
named to the first team, Walko to the second
team and germain to the third team.
Lowry was JMU’s top goal-scorer (10) and
ranked first on the team in game-winners (5).

at JMU in goals (28) and points (74). M
